16 players are listed in the Platinum category.
11 players feature in Diamond.
32 players are placed in Gold.
30 players are included in the Silver and Emerging categories combined.
The registration date for foreign players has been extended to February 3, 2026.
The first-ever player auction in PSL history will take place on February 11, 2026, as teams prepare to finalize their squads.
The official league name is HBL PSL. Media houses are advised to use the correct nomenclature in all reports, headlines, and bulletins.
Lahore, 28 January 2026: The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed in its press release the local player category renewals today.
Five players have been promoted to the Platinum category this year. They are Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha, Sahibzada Farhan, Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali, and Abrar Ahmed.
Going forward, each franchise may retain a maximum of four players, with one player per category. After the completion of retentions, teams will participate in the first-ever HBL PSL Player Auction on February 11, 2026.
Among the newly promoted Platinum players, only Sahibzada Farhan was previously in Gold. The others moved up from the Diamond category.
Players who remained in Platinum after HBL PSL X include Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, Imad Wasim, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Babar Azam, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Rizwan, Faheem Ashraf, and Mohammad Amir.
A total of 11 players are in the Diamond category. This includes three from Quetta Gladiators, three from Multan Sultans, two each from Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings, one from Peshawar Zalmi, and none from Islamabad United.
Promoted from Gold to Diamond are Mohammad Salman Mirza, Sufyan Moqim, and Mohammad Wasim Jr.
Among the 32 players assigned to Gold, four each are from Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars, eight from Karachi Kings, six from Peshawar Zalmi, and five each from Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators.
The Silver category includes 30 players combined with Emerging. Teams with most Silver players are Multan Sultans with seven, Lahore Qalandars with three, Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United with two each, followed by Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings with one each.
Players promoted from Emerging to Silver are Hunain Shah, Ubaid Shah, Mirza Mamoon Imtiaz, Mohammad Naeem, and Mohammad Azab. Hasan Nawaz moved from Emerging to Gold.
