South Western Districts beat Titans by three wickets with nine balls remaining at the Recreation Ground in Oudtshoorn, finishing on 158/7 in 18.3 overs in reply to 157/6. Regan Rhode's 3/17 disrupted Titans' innings before Modise Maloka's unbeaten 47 steered the chase home in the CSA T20 Challenge 2026.
Rhode checks Titans after Pretorius' rapid start
Titans chose to bat and Lhuan-dre Pretorius supplied the early impetus, striking 45 from 20 balls with five fours and three sixes. He dominated an opening partnership of 48 with Lethabo Phahlamohlaka before Pheko Moletsane caught him off Zack Momberg from the final ball of the fourth over.
The innings then lost momentum. Leo Sadler trapped Dewald Brevis lbw for 5, and Rhode bowled Phahlamohlaka for 7 to leave Titans 62/3. Leus du Plooy made 11 before becoming Momberg's second wicket, caught by Bennie Hansen.
Rhode's most damaging intervention came in the 13th over. Donovan Ferreira, on 6, was caught by Maloka, and Rivaldo Moonsamy followed for 18, caught by Janneman Malan. At 95/6, Titans had lost the platform provided by their opener. Rhode completed four overs, while Sadler's 1/19 from his full allocation also limited the scoring.
Dayyaan Galiem and Duan Jansen prevented further damage with an unbroken seventh-wicket stand of 62. Galiem finished on 33 from 21 balls, including three fours and a six, while Jansen contributed 27 from 23. Their recovery ensured Titans had something to defend after the middle-order setbacks.
Maloka finishes the chase through falling wickets
Janneman Malan and Yaseen Vallie gave South Western Districts a substantial foundation with an opening stand of 74. Malan made 43 from 38 balls before Duan Jansen caught him off Tsepo Ndwandwa in the 10th over. Vallie followed in the next over for 28 from 24, caught by Galiem off Tabraiz Shamsi, leaving the chase at 76/2.
Maloka and Slade van Staden added 25 for the third wicket, but Titans kept finding ways through. Van Staden was caught by Junior Dala off Galiem for 14 at the end of the 14th over. Sadler was then run out without facing a ball, with Dala again involved.
Jansen removed Liam Alder for 8 and Andile Phehlukwayo for 1 in the 16th over, the former caught by du Plooy and the latter lbw. Those wickets left South Western Districts 127/6, with Maloka still required to carry the innings.
Galiem bowled Moletsane at 143/7 and finished with 2/16 from three overs, keeping Titans in contention. Maloka, however, supplied the boundary hitting that the chase needed: his 27-ball innings contained five sixes and two fours.
Momberg stayed with him in an unbroken eighth-wicket partnership of 15, contributing 5 not out from four balls. Despite Titans' repeated breakthroughs, Maloka remained to complete the pursuit with more than an over to spare.
